TITAN’s first major wreck removal was completed in 1990 with the successful removal of a 3,900 light weight ton Ro-Ro Ferry grounded at Mona Island, Puerto Rico.  As most major wreck removals are, this job was fraught with environmental, political and technical challenges causing critics to call success for the job unachievable as defined.

The critics were proved wrong by TITAN’s implementation of new techniques and philosophies in performing the task, and by doing so, TITAN embarked upon the creation of a world wide group of specialists and unique technology who today are able to take on any wreck removal operation imaginable.  Having completed some of the largest and most complicated wreck removals ever undertaken; it is now common for ship owners, surveyors and underwriters to refer to a particularly challenging project as “a TITAN job” in appearance.

TITAN maintains large jack-up barges equipped for wreck removal operations in high energy surf conditions and for use in areas where fast moving currents and tides render floating vessels impractical.  Coupling this jack-up barge capability with TITAN’s fleet of in house designed and built “TITAN PULLERS”, TITAN can provide lifting/pulling forces in excess of 12,000 tons in applications out of reach or impractical for conventional lifting methods.   “TITAN PULLERS” can be moved quickly around the globe as ocean freight for regularly scheduled liner service, over the road, or in extreme situations even flown aboard chartered aircraft for rapid deployment.

In today’s increasing demand for oil/pollution removal from wrecks, TITAN remains on the cutting edge of this technology and continues to contribute to this developing technology by performing unprecedented operations for multi national governments, ship owners and underwriters around the world in removing oil and other pollutants in situations that would have been deemed impossible only a few years ago.

With specialists and equipment depots located on three continents, TITAN is ready to meet all of your wreck removal needs no matter how challenging.
